Kelly VassiePhilosophy of biology, psychology and cognitive science; Systems Theories; 17th century links to current cognitive science. I'm just about to finish my masters at Edinburgh University - where I specialised in Mind, Language and Embodied Cognition. My thesis explores whether two of the key concepts of Dynamic Systems Theory - systemic wholes and feedback loops - are necessary for an explanation of cognitive evolution. Next year (while I think about PhD's) I will be working on the link between Leibniz's system of active and perceptive monads, and enactive (life and mind) theories of cognition.

Discussion Topic: What does an evolutionary theory have to include in order to account for an embodied human cognition?
